Born in the coastal town of La Guaira, Venezuela, Abraham discovered storytelling and art at a young age, thanks primarily to his family's collection of old DVDs, Pablo Neruda's poems, and the support of his mentors and family. His passion for films gradually became an obsession with filmmaking, reignited when he took an AV production class in high school.
Now, as a student in the prestigious Radio-Television-Film program at the University of Texas at Austin, Abraham has been steadily making a name for himself as a producer and filmmaker, consistently engaging with Austin's filmmaking and independent art scene.
In 2023, he founded Estudio Caney*, a hub for his artistic endeavors in graphic design, photography, and filmmaking. His ultimate goal is to uplift and showcase stories from underserved communities and promote the inclusion of people of color, immigrants, and queer people in the media.
*From taíno, "Caney" means longhouse.
